About Kioto Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

A championship lineage that runs from Rio de Janeiro to the South Shore of Long Island, built on family, tradition, and world-class instruction.

The Kioto Story

More Than a Martial Arts School

Kioto Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu South Shore is an academy in Oakdale, New York, serving families across Long Island. Its roots trace back to a championship legacy that began in 1965 at the Kioto academy in Tijuca, Brazil, where a young Milton Regis first stepped onto the mats.

Today Milton leads the academy alongside his wife and black belt partner, Melissa Regis, teaching adults, kids, and women in the same welcoming, family-first spirit that has defined Kioto for decades. It is a place where champions are made and beginners feel at home.

A family, a tradition, and a straight line back to the roots of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Where Everyone Is Family

The thing students mention most is not the championships or the technique, it is the feeling. From a three-year-old's first class to a black belt promotion, Kioto treats every person on the mat like family.

That is what keeps Long Island families training here for years, and often for generations.

Real People, Real Results

What Long Island families say about Kioto.

This is by far the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school on Long Island. A traditional school focused on developing technical skill, but always welcoming and warm.
